Smart people start a part-time business for extra income

You need extra income to buy your children new school clothes, you need extra income to help pay your monthly bills, or you need extra income to help pay off your credit card debt. So want do most people do when they need extra income? Most people think about looking for a part-time job when they need extra money to supplement their income.

Is a part-time job really the answer to extra income? When you leave your full-time job and you need to rush to get to your part-time job, your time becomes very limited for yourself and your family. It will be hard to cook or have a good home cooked meal for you and your family until you have a day off of at least one of those jobs. Your family and friends will hardly ever see you. You and your spouse will be like strangers passing during the night. Having a part-time job will take away most of your free time. Eventually you will get tired of working two jobs, and you will most likely quit the part-time job. Then you will be back in the same situation you were in before you got the part- time job. Unfortunately, working one job for most people means living paycheck to paycheck or being just over broke, and working a part-time job for extra income is only a temporary solution for the problem.

It's much smarter to look for a part-time business opportunity that you can start for a permanent solution to extra income. You can start your part-time business working from home. A lot of people are working from home now. You may know some people right now who are doing it. If you work part-time from home, you can work around your other responsibilities and activities, and you can also still be there for your family. Your earning potential will be much greater so having your own part-time business could eventually free you from your full-time job which is not paying you enough money anyway. Your part-time business could eventually give you more time freedom to spend with your family, travel or whatever you want to do with your time besides work.

You don't have to worry about finding a product or service to sell because there are lots of companies offering legitimate part-time business opportunities and they will also train you. You just need to find the company you want to work with that has a product or service that you like and believe in. Once you have found a company that you may want to work with, try out their products or services first. If you like the products or services and you believe the company is sound and stable after doing your research, the next thing to do is apply to become a distributor. You will need to pay the required fee to get started which is normally a small amount of money. Some part-time business opportunities cost as little as $10 to $100 to get started. You may need to purchase some products, and then you are in business. You should work closely with your sponsor so you can learn the companies system for the best results.

Once you get started with your part-time business, go to the trainings and learn as much as possible about your company and your products. Attend as much training as possible. You can also attend any out source trainings you may find interesting because they can also be helpful for growing your business. If your goal is to eventually quit your job and work your business full-time, give your business time to grow before you start thinking about quitting your job. You should never quit your job and jump into a business especially if you do not have any prior experience of running a business. Keep your full-time job until you are sure the money is coming in to pay the bills, and you feel comfortable quitting your job. Read Rich Dad's Before You Quit Your Job by Robert Kiyoski before even considering it.

Stay At Home Moms

It is something many women dream of: the chance to be able to stay at home with their children and to not need to take their children to the babysitters so they can go to work.

It is hard to find a job that will allow you to work so you can contribute to your family's income and also allow you to stay at home with your children. Luckily if you are working online, there are many jobs you can do as a stay at home mom and still do your best to help your family make ends meet.

There are many different jobs stay at home moms might do. The important thing about working from home and being a stay at home mom is that you can set your own hours. This is very helpful if you have small children that are going to need your time. Instead of making your children wait until your work is finished, you can figure out a way to make your work wait until your children have free time so you can work. Being a stay at home mom and working is something that requires a little bit of structure but once you have figured it out, it is something that is easy to do. You are going to be able to stay at home and get your work done, and you are also going to be able to show your family you care about them by being there for your kids.

There are many things a stay at home mom can do to work from home. The most important thing you should do is figure out what kinds of work interest you. You should try to get a stay at home job that falls in one of your interests because working is something that is going to be with you for awhile. You want to be sure that not only are you working and doing a good job but you are also making ends meet for your family in a way that makes you happy. There are many stay at home moms who work only in their fields whether this is writing or marketing or other forms of art. You can find something you love to do, and you can find a way to do it at home so your children never have to be at home without you, and your family time can be spent as a family. Working from home is something that has become quite popular with families and with other moms. Try to find a way it can fit in your lifestyle as well.

Setting Up An Online Store

It seems like online stores are all the rage lately. There are many places online where you can buy things and where you can make other types of purchases. There are sites that sell new items, sites that sell old items, and sites that sell a combination of the both. If you want to work at home, and you are thinking of setting up an online store in order to do so, there are several things that you might want to keep in mind as you embark on this adventure.

First of all, you should choose goods that you have an interest in. If you are a big book reader, for instance, maybe you should sell new and/or used books online. If you have another interest, try to figure out a way to work your interests into your online store. This is important because you are going to be able to take control over your online store and make sure that you are selling what you want to sell, and if it is something that you are interested in, chances are good that you are going to find yourself more involved.

After you have decided what your online store is going to be selling, you need to figure out where you should get your products. Are you going to buy them around your town, or are you yourself going to order them online? Wherever you are getting your products from, you have to make sure that you are able to get products cheap. The best way to make sure that you are going to make a profit is to try to buy items in bulk so that you have many of them. Often you’ll be able to buy items much more cheaply if you buy a lot of them at once, and shipping costs will be reduced, as well. Then, you can sell the items individually to buyers online and make a profit that way. Since a person is only buying one item, they will pay more for it than you paid for it when you bought it in bulk.

Now you are ready to set up your store. You need an online space with a name that you can easily have people remember, and then you need to begin the marketing. Try to do as much as possible so that your name and your address are in as many places as they can be. Once you have started to get some business, you can continue to sell items and get even more business. The key to being successful is having a product that people want and being able to market it in a way that is going to make you money in the end.

Do You Know The Secret

I finally watched The Secret (Extended Edition) on New Years Day of this year. I had heard about the movie for a couple of years but never watched it until now. I am so glad I did. That was the best thing I could have done for myself on New Years Day. I must say life will never be the same. I always felt like there was something missing, something not clear about life on this planet, something not being told to the masses and if told, it would change everything. The Secret confirmed there was something.

I watched the movie over and over again for weeks. Right away I started applying the Secret to my life. Shortly after applying the Secret I found myself in a mink coat that I only dreamed about having. I always went in this coat store and tried on fur coats just for the fun of it. It was just for fun because I THOUGHT I could not afford to buy one but to my surprise on this particular day the salesman gave me a price I could not refuse nor ignore. My THOUGHT changed real quick and I now own a mink coat. I felt like God wanted me to have that coat and if I didn't buy it then, I would be telling Him I really didn't want it when I asked for it. He made it possible for me to have it right then and I got it.

I've learned that I must stop thinking I cannot afford to buy things that may seem costly or out of my budget at the time. I know by thinking, seeing, and feeling myself in a mink coat when I was trying them on over and over again for fun, it soon came to being mines. The money I paid for the coat was not missed at all. The bills were still paid. I asked for the coat in my mind, I saw myself in it, I believed it was mines and I got it. Thank you! I applied the Secret and didn't even realize it until after I got the mink coat home and tried it on looking at myself in my own mirror.

Not only did I get a mink coat in January after watching the Secret movie on New Years Day but without going into details during the month of January, I unexpectedly got a new furnace in my home which was needed and at one time I thought I could not afford it, my daughter not only got a new car that she needed but the one she said she always wanted. We both saw her in this car before we found it at the dealership. I know this is just the beginning of achieving the things we want in life by changing our thinking.

I am so grateful know that I know The Secret!

Promoting Your Home Business

Marketing is an important aspect of any business. Home based businesses are no exception. Here are a few tips on promoting your home business.

1. Personalize your business cards with a company logo. Be sure to include email addresses and website URL on the front.

2. If you sell a product, carry several samples with you. Attach a business card to the front. You’ll be prepared the next time someone asks you “ What do you do for a living?”. Hand them a sample along with your contact information so they know how to get more.

3. Collect email addresses from everyone. Contact information can be as good as money in the bank.

4. Start a monthly newsletter filled with updates and special promotions for your products and services. Snail mail it and email it out to every address in your data base.

5. Learn to write good copy. If you don’t have time to educate yourself, hire an exceptional copy writer to assist you. Good copy makes a difference between booming business and lost sales.

6. Request testimonials form experts in your line of work, than use them to promote your business.

7. Publish your business in every available marketing directory in your area.

8. Word of mouth can make or break a business. Talk up your business when in public and enlist friends and family members to do the same.

9. If you don’t have one already, get a website. Keep it low key, professional, easy to navigate and full of quality content. Don’t overuse graphics and flashy plug ins that slow down the time it takes for your page to load. Spend some time creating a catchy headline or slogan for your business. Now would be the time to use the copy writer again. List your web site with directories like Google , Yahoo and Inktomi. Make sure you read the webmaster’s guidelines and ensure that your website conforms to the search engines terms of service.

10. Get the word out about your business online by joining discussion forums related to your area of business. Post links back to your website and exchange links with other businesses that compliment your service. Avoid associating your site with fly-by-night or shady businesses. Only allow your links to be posted on high quality, reputable sites. Only post links on your site to businesses or websites that you have researched thoroughly. This can improve your page ranking and help you move up on the search engine results page.

11. Procure advertising space in your local newspaper “above the fold”. Check into hiring a professional speaker to read a specially prepares script advertising your business (once again, consult that excellent copy writer) and have your new radio commercial played during prime listening times. If you can only afford a few minutes of radio time, it is still a good investment.

Marketing Your Home Business

Good for you! You’ve decided to open up a home business. Who knew that you could actually get it started and that you’d be able to follow through with it – well you have! Give yourself a pat on the back, and take a breather. But only a quick one, because once you have started up a home business, the hard part isn’t anywhere near finished.

As soon as you have started up your home business, you need to begin to market it. This is something that you might not have even thought of, but it is something that needs to be done right away because this is where you are going to get your key clients from. Remember that this isn’t as hard as you might think it is. In fact, marketing your home business can be a snap, if you follow some key ideas.

First of all, you need to determine who your key audience is. Are you going to be marketing to kids, to adults, or to another age bracket? Are you going to market more to men or women or both? Is there anything else about your clientele that separates them from the world at large?

Once you have decided who you are going to be targeting, you can begin to market. There are several ways to do this. If your home business is based in a large city or somewhere that has a lot of traffic, you can do other kinds or marketing like flyers, signs, and other print media. However, if you are running a business that is mostly online, and you hope that most of your clients will come from the internet, there are several things you should do to make sure that marketing is a success.

First of all, you should place ads on web pages that you know will get seen by your key demographic. Find some popular sites for the group of people that you have to target and try to get some advertising on those sites. Also look for pages that everyone will see, and try to get as many links out there as possible that have your name and your businesses name on them.

You are also going to want to make sure that you are posting blogs and other articles all over the internet that somehow relate back to you. Get your name out there, do some surfing of your own. If you are in a certain type of business, go to some boards that deal with that business, and post on them with your internet address in your signature. The more advertising you can do, the more people are going to see your website and hopefully click on the link to visit your page.

The Joys of Working at Home

In the fast paced job market, it might seem like there is never enough time to do what you really want to do – be at home with your families and take care of what you need to take care of while you are there. Luckily, now there are many ways that you can work from home. There are many joys of being able to work from home, and make enough money to actually make it worth it.

First of all, if you have children, you are going to get to be there for them during the day when they are young, and after school when they are older. You will never get the chance to be there for your children again, because once they grow up, that’s it! So, you should take every opportunity to be near them and take care of them when they are young. Also, by working from home, you can make sure that you aren’t having to pay for child care. Most of the time, people end up spending the money that they make working directly on child care, and unless they love their jobs and need to do their jobs, it simply isn’t worth it for someone to work part time just enough to pay someone else to take care of their kids while they are working. Think about how nice it would be to be able to actually make money, and not need to spend any of it on childcare.

Also, there is a certain freedom that comes along with working from home. By being at home and staying at home you are there to tackle things that come up and to keep a handle on the way that the house operates. You are there to be in charge. No more leaving in the dark and coming home after the sun has set for the day. And no more trying to do all of the house work and chores on the weekends. You can simply allow yourself to be at home and enjoy the life that you are living.

Remember that the best part of working at home is getting to do the things that you really enjoy and getting to do them in your own environment. Nothing can beat the fact that you are going to be able to stay at home with your family and with your house chores, and still be able to make just as much money as if you were working at a job for 40 hours a week. There are many ways that you can work from home, and getting to know what these ways are is just the beginning to a successful career.

Time Management Tools for Those Earning Extra Income At Home

Working at home to earn extra income is a blessing for most, but for some it can become a nightmare in very little time. While it may seem odd that you need to incorporate time management tools in your effort to make ends meet by simply working from a location where you are already – your home – it is imperative that you remember that structured time will be by far more productive than simply working as the mood hits you. Similarly, if you are not on the top of your game with simple time management devices, you might quite possibly find yourself at the end of the day with very little to show for the deadlines you need to meet the next morning. Miss a few deadlines, and the odds are you will lose that wonderful business opportunity that allows you to earn extra income while working at home.

Time management tools are greatly varied, depending on your needs. Thus, it is quite possible to create a plan that works for you individually as well as for the task you will be performing. To this end, quite possibly the most important technique that will help you to remain focused while earning the extra income is to set an objective for each day that you have work to do at home. Define your goal for the day, identify which projects need to be completed, and how you need to pace yourself to see them through to completion. The easiest way to achieve this is simply by breaking down your project into its varied components, assigning time values to them and then meeting these deadlines one at a time. The small sense of accomplishment you will feel when you achieve one or more of the deadlines will go a long ways to ensuring that you do not suffer from burnout or other frustrations which will take the joy out of earning extra income.

One of the most overlooked time management tools for those working and earning extra income at home is the schedule and calendar. It is not enough to simply block out a period of time that you will use to work, but you will need to augment this block with reminders, as well as frequent breaks; after all, earning extra income simply means that you have another source of income and working two jobs may be more than you bargained for when you took on this opportunity. Adding frequent breaks to your schedule is a good idea. This also permits you to interact with friends and family who will not mind the extra income you are earning as long as it does not interfere with your ability to also spend time with them. In the long run, this form of scheduling will benefit you as much as it benefits them.

More Problems Associated With Being Self Employed

Do you have the right personality to be self employed? If you are determined, driven to achieve your goal, and able to keep your vision in the crosshairs at all times, then you will most likely be on your way. If less than complimentary clients and even those who harshly criticize your ideas do not deter you from trying, but perhaps are actually spurring you on to try even harder, then you are most certainly on your way to success. Yet what about the financial ability to see it through – are you ready? Can you weather an equipment failure, loss of data, and the need for upgraded equipment without having to resort to using your personal credit cards? Are you able to survive if one or more client do not pay you one time but leave you hanging for a few months?

If you answered yes to the first two questions you may be well on your way to self employment, yet you are not quite there! There are still some problems associated with being self employed that you need to be aware of before bidding farewell to your boss. Perhaps one of the biggest fear factors is the IRS. These initials are sufficient to drive the fear of doing business into even the most hardened entrepreneurs, and you may be no exception. After all, you will need to be meticulously organized and instead of only paying taxes once a year, you will find yourself at the taxman’s office every quarter. Furthermore, you will need to be prepared to pay your Medicare and FICA and up that point in time of being self employed, it was your boss’ responsibility to do so. Before dismissing that guaranteed paycheck, make sure you will be able to traverse the narrow path the IRS has set forth for the self employed.

On a personal note, self employment for those with family is fraught with another set of problems. A steady paycheck keeps a family well supported and many money worries at bay, while self employment may be more akin to times of feast or famine. Are your family members willing to help you achieve your dream of being self employed? Do they understand the implications of no longer being able to count on the bi-weekly direct deposit in the bank account? It is imperative that everyone involved knows what the changes will mean and get on board with you. Failure to paint an honest picture will result in misunderstandings, feelings of betrayal, and such an increase in strife that you will find yourself scouring the help wanted ads simply to keep peace in the family. Sorting this out ahead of time ensures that everyone is on the same page and ready and willing to support your dream and perhaps even make it their own!

The Problems Associated With Being Self Employed

The dream of being successfully self-employed is quite possibly innate to anyone who is employed. The idea of having the artistic freedom necessary to create winning marketing campaigns is probably one of the most often cited reasons why an employee would much rather prefer to be their own boss. Another reason is the fact that the relationship between employer and employee has broken down at some level and the employee realizes that certain needs have not been met and most certainly will remain unmet while in the employ of the company. Yet self employment itself is a bit of a double edged sword and not everyone is cut out for this mode of earning a living. If you are contemplating this step so as to work from home and throw off the shackles that corporate employment has become to you, think long and hard if you are truly ready.

There are a set of problems associated with being self employed, and perhaps the biggest obstacle a novice faces is his or her own self. Having a dream is easy; yet making this dream a reality demands a certain level of self discipline. Some personality types are not able to transit from reporting to a boss to reporting to no one yet remaining just as driven. Additionally, some personality types that benefited from the buffer the employer presented when it came to relationships with clients or customers, will sorely find their patience tested when a new client harshly criticizes the marketing strategy you present to them. Especially if you are in an artistic field, some of these criticisms could feel like personal attacks or even personal rejection, making this form of employment almost harder than working for someone else.

The second problem you will face is the question as to who will bankroll your endeavor. After all, it is not enough to have a great idea. You probably also have bills, a family to feed, and if nothing else the daily needs that have to be fulfilled. The number one challenge associated with this step is the fact that many a newbie will use credit cards to get set up. Yet the problems do not end there. How much liquidity you have at the onset will also determine your overall success since it dictates whether or not you can live with the fact that one client is taking an extraordinary long period of time to finally pay you. If one or maybe even more slow clients spell financial trouble to such an extent that you have to touch your retirement savings or home equity, you might not yet be ready for self employment. It is important to begin being your own boss from a position of strength, not weakness.

The Professional Fulfillment of Self Employment

Have you toyed with the idea of self employment? The odds are quite good that you have at least considered it in passing, but perhaps you were not sure if your skills were the kinds of abilities that would permit you to embark in business for yourself and successfully feed your family. Additionally, you might have wondered if indeed it would be possible to market a product without having a large marketing department stand behind you, and a second party paying your wages until the marketing campaigns prove themselves to be fruitful. Yet when you see those who have already embarked onto the road of self employment, you notice that while personal fulfillment most certainly ranks quite high in their satisfaction rating, there is also a sense of professional fulfillment.

The reasons are easily understood. Professional fulfillment comes from a job done well. You will have proven to yourself and the world that you can not only take an existing product – for example – and then devise a working marketing strategy, implement it, and follow through with strong sales. If you have previously done something similar for an employer, you will have the added satisfaction of no longer needing the boss to succeed. In a way this very thought will most likely have spurred you on to take greater risks, make bigger gambles, and no longer play it safe – only to be rewarded with success!

Your professional fulfillment begins with the fact that you will have proven to anyone beyond the shadow of a doubt that you are a force to be reckoned with and that you can do a job better than an already established company. Add to this the financial benefits, and your sense of professional success only skyrockets! How many have told you that for a long time you would be operating in the red and perhaps that you would never see a plus instead of a minus in front of your numbers? With your success you will have proven all of them wrong!

As you can see, there is no end to the sense of professional fulfillment that can be garnered simply from being self employed. So go ahead and take another look at that dream that you might have thought was impossible to fulfill and instead dust it off and give it the old college try. Take the time to dot your “i” and cross your “t” and spend countless hours in the office of a certified public accountant that will make sure your tax obligations are met, and that you will not suffer any kind of liability problem. Take the challenge to wave good bye to your boss! You may very well be glad that you did!

Making the Most of a Business Opportunity

The Internet is home of the business opportunity ad. While some are not legit, others do have the potential of netting you a pretty penny. Once you have found such an opportunity, it is important that you make the most of it – but to do so wisely. You will need to observe a few tips and tricks that will not only help you to earn money, but also protect you from losing any of your hard earned cash in the process.

When you are starting out in pursuit of your business opportunity, you will need to juggle your full time job and your extracurricular pursuit. While it might be tempting to throw caution to the wind, quit your job and pursue the opportunity full time, it is extremely unwise to do so. You will still have bills, and if you have a family, it is unfair to expect them to suddenly make do without the little extras they have come to appreciate. Instead, go ahead and work your regular job while expanding on your business opportunity. This will prevent you from having to give up after a few unsuccessful months with maxed out credit cards.

Building a business takes time, and if you involve friends and family, you will probably be able to do so a lot faster. Of course, this should not mean that you try to peddle your nutritional supplements that are part of the business you are building at every family reunion. Instead, you might be able to involve some family members in the business end itself. Do you need help with taxes? Maybe an aunt is good at doing them! Do you have questions about licenses and insurance? If you have a stay at home dad who is willing to do some work in exchange for a bit of money, these headaches could be taken away from you. In short, rare is the entrepreneur who makes money all by her or himself from the basement, yet plentiful is the entrepreneur who – with the help of friends and family – succeeded!

Your business opportunity requires exposure, yet there is more to advertising than paying for a three by five ad in the local rag. Instead, attend trade shows, hand out flyers, print up business cards (not the free ones that carry another company’s logo on the back) and network with other entrepreneurs. Do not stay home when you are trying to build a business, but instead go to where the business world is located and get out the word! This ensures that you will truly make the most of your business opportunity without having to spend money you may not yet have earned on costly advertisements that may not be as effective as you had hoped.

Benefiting the Company: Telecommuting

Copyright © Sheila Nelson

When discussing the many benefits of telecommuting, it is almost always a foregone conclusion that it is the employee who benefits from this new mode of doing business. The highlighted points usually involve the employee’s ability to no longer have to waste valuable time being stuck in rush hour traffic, and also the fringe benefit of being home when children are coming home from school. While this is undeniably true, some of the benefits that are associated with telecommuting do not just have to do with the employee, but also the employer. Such benefits include the ability make do with less office space, and to put the employee into a mutually ownership position of her or his work, so that customers and clients will receive a greater level of service.

Yet very often the many benefits available to the company at large are overlooked. While the employer itself may only be one dot on the map for a large company, the overall benefits that will befall the company that makes telecommuting a company-wide opportunity for qualified employees cannot be overlooked. When one small satellite office of the company succeeds, it is always a good time to see what works there that might work in other markets as well. Productivity is almost always the first litmus test that must be met for a satellite office to be considered successful, while fiscal savings rank as a close second.

A company will benefit undisputedly from telecommuting workers on a number of levels. First and foremost is the fact that employees no longer feel chained to their desks by an eight to five schedule. Sure, a worker may take a longer lunch, stop by the neighbor’s fence to chat for a bit, and perhaps even mow the yard during regular working hours, but on the upside this same worker is much more likely to remain at his or her computer and continue working until a project is finished than will be the worker who still has to fight traffic on the way home. Similarly, the telecommuting worker is much more likely to pick up the work again after family obligations have been met in the evening than it is likely for the office worker to once again get into the car and return to the office to complete a certain project.

Another savings opportunity presents itself when you consider the reduced employee turnover your company will experience. After all, telecommuting jobs are hard to come by and it is not surprising that these employees will work harder to ensure that the company will be satisfied with their performance to ensure that their position itself is safe. All in all, telecommuting is truly a win-win situation for the employer, employee, and the parent company.

Benefiting the Employee: Telecommuting

Copyright © Sheila Nelson

As an employee you know how much time is wasted each day. The wastefulness begins before you even set foot inside your office! You are stuck in traffic for hours on end, and instead of being on the telephone talking with customers and clients you are forced to inch at a snail’s pace closer to the exit that will take you to yet another clogged highway. It is therefore no surprise that so many employees clamor to get a chance at telecommuting. If you have what it takes to work diligently and without direct supervision of others, then this mode of work will most likely yield great benefits for you. Some of these benefits are of course quite obvious: the ability to spend time with your family is perhaps the one advantage most often mentioned by those who telecommute.

Yet the very fact that you will be able to take a greater sense of ownership from the job will spur you on to give it your all. You will most likely work even more closely with customers and clients to cultivate the important relationships that ensure future growth for the company and that will also help you to personally reap greater profits by establishing that one on one relationship so many consumers crave. Add to this the heightened productivity you will experience as a result of no longer being subject of the traffic congestion that is so frequently found everywhere, and you can see how your personal sales will begin to take off!

Some wagging tongues will attempt to belittle your efforts, and quite possibly even make you feel guilty for taking a coffee break, taking Rover for a quick walk, or simply for doing a load of laundry in between assignments. While in excess your critics would be right, in moderation these activities actually benefit the employer. Short breaks and a change of scenery are akin to the trip to the kitchen at work to refill your coffee. You get away from everything for a bit, exercise, and then return quite often with a fresh perspective and ready to give it even more of an effort.

Interestingly, one of the greatest benefits to telecommuting for the employee is rarely mentioned: the fact that disturbances by other employees are all but eliminated. You know how frustrating it can be when suddenly someone enters your office to chat, or to ask for your help with a task, or simply because they want to discuss an aspect of a project with you. While necessary activities, they can be greatly curtailed by telecommuting, thus allowing you to complete your assignments faster and with much greater efficiency. This in turn might allow you a bit of leisure time toward the end of the day that you would not have been able to realize otherwise.

Want To Work At Home? Telecommuting Might Be For You!

Copyright © Sheila Nelson

You are probably one of the millions of Americans who enjoy their professions and who actually do not mind working for someone else. Sure, the American Dream has always been to set out for yourself into the world of business, make a name for yourself with a product or service that only you have thought of, and then turn your life from rags to riches. Yet considering that many Americans have families, mortgages, and bills to pay, the number of people who manage to successfully quit their jobs and become self employed is small. Granted, many try it and quite a few have moderate successes. Yet by far greater is the number of people who will go through their life’s savings, and in the end stand to loose their homes in order to meet financial obligations that went by the wayside and suddenly seem to pile up.

Perhaps you have sat in traffic time and again, bemoaning the fact that you are wasting two or more hours of your time each day simply getting to your job – the kind of time that could be put to good use! This is probably also the time that you remember the many articles you have read on telecommuting, and you are wondering if you have what it takes to take this step. After all, if you were to approach your boss with a well thought out plan, the odds are good that she or he would most likely give you a chance to prove yourself.

Yet telecommuting is not for everyone who wants to do it. First and foremost you will have to still consider yourself employed and thus bound by a schedule. While it is tempting to procrastinate on work related items just until you finish that last load of laundry, mow the yard, or groom the dog, you do have to remember that you are on the clock. Additionally, you will still need to meet deadlines and also work so as to accommodate the work schedules of others in your company. This means that working in the middle of the night so that you can accompany the kids on a field trip the next day might not work.

Secondly, you will need to have adequate equipment. While almost everyone owns a personal computer, there are a myriad of software programs out there that may not be compatible. Test it out before you go to bat with your boss! Additionally, make sure you have all the little peripherals you need to work from home. Will you need a fax machine or a scanner? Maybe you need to change your long distance plan to accommodate long distance calls? It is important to have all your ducks in a row before you start!

MLM Success - Creating and Manifesting Prosperity

By Ron Kasdorf

In the attempt of creating MLM Success, an understanding of the Law of Attraction is vital. As the story goes, the whole universe was created, everything was in place and then man was created. This could be said to be one of the earliest manifestations of the Law of Attraction. Many could philosophize this point. But for the sake of this demonstration, let us continue.

The Law of Attraction states that we should ask answer and receive. While we were created first by thought, then allowed, we are free to be. It is in the allowing that shows that we are not mere puppets. We are allowed to be that which we choose. In the process of allowing, we can be great as we are meant to be.

While we are here on this earth, in order to manifest great things, we must first follow the same process. While we are not born into the world with the knowledge to do many things, we have the freedom to gain that knowledge as we choose. Again that is part of the process.

When we chose to create prosperity, we must gain the knowledge. Just as in this writing there have been many others who have written about this philosophy. Many others will follow. I am not professing that I have the answer, but merely my understanding. It is in the action of the LOA that we are free to manifest anything and everything that we wish to manifest. That includes wealth and prosperity.

We are, for example born unto this world without the specialized knowledge to become an astronaut. That does not mean that we cannot become one. It merely means that we are to surround ourselves with those who have the knowledge in order to become.

Surrounding yourself with others who have become that which you chose to be, is the key. This is an age-old process that has been known by few and practiced by even fewer. Why is it then that as it is said, the universe is abundant and that we are free to be do and have all, which we aspire to be, do and have, that few have embraced this concept?

Good question. Perhaps it is that in our infinite wisdom we get in the way of ourselves. We allow feelings to get in the way of our being. If we allow others to create our lives for us, than that is what we get. We are taught at an early age to rely on our well-meaning parents. We didn't have to think. We didn't have to create. When we become of age, we are thrown out of the nest and expected to fly on our own.

Now that we are here, what do we do? You cannot change the past, only the here and now leading into the future. I had mentioned that "specialized knowledge." We must seek it out and attract it into our lives. We need to be taught or mentored. We must also realize that in this process, we it is not required that we be taught only by one, but it is far preferable to be taught by many. This process is called masterminding.

Many successful greats from the past have practice both of these principles side by side and have created great things. History has recorded these feats and while that is in the past, the opportunity is in the here and now.

Napoleon Hill interviewed 500 of the "richest" people in the world when he wrote, "Think and Grow Rich." All 500 had ONE thing in common: Every one of them worked with a "Mastermind" group. Participating in a mastermind group has proven to be an integral part of my success in MLM.

Advertising Your Internet Home Base Business Opportunity Locally

Copyright © Sheila Nelson

Advertising your internet home base business opportunity locally is not that difficult to do. As a matter of fact, if you are serious about getting clients to buy into your internet home base business opportunity, you will need to pay close attention to the local market. One such avenue is the local newspaper. While many internet business owners may promote their services in the big national papers, it is the savvy advertiser who will spread the word about her or his opportunity in the local news outlets.

An internet home base business opportunity may be something that a reader of the local paper is looking for. In turn, it might be something that a friend or acquaintance is in search of. Another good way for maximizing the exposure of your internet home base business opportunity is to rely on radio spots. To many this kind of advertising is akin to big-timing it, and depending what your advertising budget is, it may very well be.

On the other hand, local radio stations are the key to reaching large segments of the population who may not be purchasing newspapers or magazines and who may never find out about your internet home base business opportunity any other way. You may need to start out small with the local stations, but if you can work your way up to having an actual host-read spot, you will most certainly reap great monetary rewards from your investment. If you are still unsure about advertising either in print or on the airwaves, there is a third mode of local advertising that will work: your presence at a local fair, volunteer event, or holiday promotion. You can give your name a lot of play by sponsoring a booth, donating goods or services, or giving away freebies at the events. Whatever exposure you will be able to gain for your business opportunity will be worth the time and money spent on promoting it.
